My car came without side molding and i've decided that i better put some on. I saw a web site that makes side molding in my color for my car. Anybody have any experience with side molding for a ls 460?

also - anyone have experience with door guards? it seems to me that they would not look too good on this car.

Yours is the first one i've seen with side molding. Looks good. I think i'm going to go all black.

Went to Carid but didn't see any. But did buy the chrome accent pieces from them for between the side windows.

go back to carid.com then go to spoilers scroll down past spoilers photos you will find side molding choices i went with solid no chrome in smokey mica also added a spoiler . if you are looking for factory mud guards in car color the best and cheapest is lexus of calgary 1 403 2504930 or www.lexusofcalgary.com

I purchased a set from sportwing.com for ~120 shipped - they match the car perfectly. I have a dark color (truffle) and did not get the chrome because I thought it would stand out and add a bling factor that I did NOT want. I received them 2 days after placing the order!

Their mounting instructions say to measure 10 inches from bottom trim - I thought that was way too low to offer any real protection to the sides and went with 11-1/2 inches - I'm glad I did and wish I had gone with 12 inches.

I was worried that they would not look good on the LS460, but figured they're certainly better than door dings! Once installed, I actually like the look - the color is perfect and they blend in unobrusively - they looks "factory". The price from sportwing is better than others listed, by far... and their product has held up well on other vehicles I've put them on. And I know they've helped from some of the marks I can see on the moldings! Highly recommended... I have no relationship to sportwing - just a great product at a great price for anybody who's looking!

If you are talking about the things that protect the edge of your doors, then yes I have them on mine. There are some metal guards painted to match, available from Sewell parts I think. They are pressure fit, so I'm not sure what the paint would look like if you ever had them removed. I had the clear bra people make little door guards out of the clear bra material, so that I could peel it off if I changed my mind or it needed to be replaced after damage. It was saved my edges from chips a few times.
