Default Best Gas for the LS

What grade gasoline are you running?

What brand?

Does it matter either way?

How many miles you getting per gallon?

Hey, do you have the website to Google? I keep hearing about this and not sure what it is

LMAO

Seriously, when searching on ClubLexus, I find it very useful to simply state in Google "LED DRL" and "ClubLexus.com" in the search box, and amazingly my very questions are answered.

Back on topic so I don't get slapped for excessive sarcasm, if my owners manual, fuel door and everything else telling me the car REQUIRES premium fuel, guess what...I'm putting in premium. Yeah, it costs more, but hell, I drive an LS460..gas should not be an issue. If you have a long commute, folks should buy a TDI Jetta or one of these new 4 bangers that get like 40mpg and keep the LS looking great for evenings, road trips and days to just floss around by the biggest downtown plate glass windows you can find..why, because we BAWSE like that! LOL

WOW ... Such strong responses for a questions that simply asked what "grade" of gas "YOU" are using and what "brand" ... neither of which are stated in "my" owners manual ... I'm just saying ... I know that the manual states premium gasoline and no, money is NOT an issue when it comes to gas ... Just asking if the "brand" of gas matters one way or the other ... Also, I know the mpg depends on each person's driving, but I was just curious to know what other LS Owners got from their gas ... That's all

Thanks for your input.

Respectfully,

Mac

Default Regular or Premium gas?

I just purchased a 2007 460. I used to own a 2004 430 and always used regular gas and it ran fine (although it called for premium). For the 460, can I use regular gas or do I have to use premium?

I do a lot of road trips, my car is in great shape down to wheel alignment and tires and know how to squeeze out some good MPG’s and you are getting 600 + is amazing sir! You have me wondering why is your LS460 more special than ours.

took a road trip to Charlotte last night took some pics as i remembered..

as the elapsed time shows 6hrs 30mins(+15more after the fill up) Orlando to Charlotte in 6hrs45mins... THANKS TO K40 radar an laser technology

546.4miles 1 tank premium this time (20 miles of city before jumping on the highway) my average speed (calc by the car is 79mph.. but as i hit the highway my cruise was set at 90+(except thru GA..10over posted limit)

i took these pics as i filled up 35 miles from my destination.. so take 511 + the 35 miles left i'd 2 miles til empty based on the cars #'s but as i kept driving i noticed the counter stop going down for awhile an then just said low fuel.. so i stopped to fill up since there are no open stations at 2am in the area we were heading.. i figure the ups and downs of the hills on I-26 in SC lowered my #'s a bit..but 600 on a tank is sooooo doable..

it also helps i that drive at night with little to no traffic

Default ll gas is not the same

Top Tier gas is superior and Toyota recognizes it.

Default Gas: Premium vs. Regular advantages, disadvantages (merged threads)

OK, I know all the arguments/opinions regarding retarded timing, reduced performance and reduced gas mileage, but with premium gas now 50 cents a gallon more than regular, I filled her up with the regular gas last time. So far haven't noticed and difference in performance, smoothness, drivability or economy.

Anyone else using regular gas in their LS460?

(Flame suit on!)

I used it once and didn't notice a difference either. I use 92 octane otherwise, but wouldn't hesitate to use it.

I live west of Denver and we can get away with regular at this altitude, car runs fine. However on a trip and while driving the flatlands of FL, etc., I noticed a severe degradation in performance. Routine passing became an adventure. When switched over to high-test it was fine again.
