Default What's the best way to get a new Key?

I was wondering if anyone has already replaced a key on their LS460? I've seen that you can buy an OEM key from fleabay and it seems that a tool like this "Car Remote Smart Key 4D Transponder Programmer" could do the job on my '07.

Just in case i need a new key, what would be the best way to get one (beside the dealer that is :-) ?

You might be able to save some $$ by going outside of the normal dealer channels...Lexus of Pembroke Pines has some good deals though.

Im in the same position. I bought an extra unprogrammed and uncut key fob from ebay for $68.43. Lexus did the whole song and dance how for some reason it couldnt be programmed. I literally just got off the phone with 2 different locksmiths that come to my location for $85. Im scheduling it for monday so ill let u know how it goes. FYI: lexus of las vegas charges $300.00 for a new key fob. Sewell lexus charges approx. $160.

With the CL discount, the fob, metal blade, and programming are very reasonable price IMO. You can get a new OEM fob, perfectly cut blade to the car's VIN, and hassle free.

How did you apply a CL discount? I get to the checkout and has the option to enter a code but otherwise its $320...

When I set up my account on the Sewell website, there was an option to select membership in a forum. I just provided my username from here, and now when I login prior to shopping, all of the items reflect a discount from the normal online price. Hope that helps!
