well it's been out since first yr ls460 back in 07, but it was only available in japan (not sure about other regions). the ls600hl launch edition here in the US last yr had this feature (not on normal ls600hl).

i hope this will soon be an available option

Yup, I've had it for a year now on my launch edition LS600hL. It can be quite startling when you are driving aggressively and the system turns the dash red and says "STOP" in the LCD display in the middle and taps the brakes. You can easily make it do this if you approach a car on the freeway quickly and then change lanes at the last minute.

You should be sure to test drive this before you order it.

The Infiniti M45 has a similar system called Lane Departure System and the consensus is its a pain in the butt. You have to turn it off each time you start the car (although I'm sure there's some way to permanently override it).

Many years ago when I drove long hours on the highway late at night, I would have killed for a system like this, but today it would be a huge annoyance for me.
