Not sure if other early adaptors of the LS460L (I took delivery of mine at launch) have experienced anything similar .. At 18,500 miles I had to replace all (4) tires.

The car was vibrating really bad, and when the dealer inspected the vehicle, they found the tires were already down to the cords in some places on the tires

The dealer helped go to bat for me with Lexus, and I only paid $350 for (4) tires and an alignment .. but I still remained shocked at the short life of the 18" Dunlap tires on the vehicle.

What type of tire did they replace with? At 7500 miles my Bridgestones were about half shot. I ponied up (but should have fought with Lexus) and got Continental tires with a 60,000 pro-rata warranty. At 14,000 miles (total, 6500 on tires), so far, so good.

i work at the dealership in charleston, sc. and on almost all the LS460's with dunlop tires on the inner edge of the all the tires there coming apart. out dealership, i think, pays for this...its a problem with the tire and not the car. we now put updated dunlops, ones made after a certain date, and still do an alignment.

That is right, I work at dealership in SA, Texas and Im surprise the tires (almost new) still look bad as rubber torn, uneven wear, even shown inner metal hair shape..

yea, our directer of fixed ops kinda freaked out when he first saw it lol. but its casue of the Dunlop tire company...not the car.

plus when you buy every new lexus...there a sticker that TELLS YOU, YOU ONLY GET 15K OUT OF YOUR TIRES! lol

Just replaced my Dunlop oringinals at 19,600 for the same reason. Upgraded to a Michelin Pilot that should last 25k miles. What an amazing difference in sound and feel. Hated to spend the money in 18 months but the difference in ride quality was worth it.

Wow, that sounds pretty bad, I have the Bridgestones on my car, but I've only driven 2,000 miles so far, so it may take me another year to reach 7,500 miles

Just returned from the tire shop after replacing my Dunlops at 19,712 miles. Left front badly cupped on the outside, others just starting to. Went with the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity.

ok...on the dunlop tires...the last for digts on the serial code on the sidewall of the tire...if it is 48 07 or below that number, then you need the "updated" tires

48 stands for the week of the year that tire was made
07 stands for the year that tire was made

atleast thats what we are doing at the dealership

I also replaced my tires with the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity. Excellent tires. Quiet and grip well. I already have 8K on them.

I've had the "feathering/cupping" problems with my Dunlops, too, as well as rapid wear. I'm now at 12,000 miles, but it looks like I'll do well to get 20, 000 at the rate they're going.

Just called my dealer to see if they knew about the replacement tires. The Service Advisor didn't know anything about it, but said he is emailing today to find out more and will let me know.

BTW, my dealer HAS acknowledged problems with the Dunlops ... told me a couple months back that Lexus has had a bellyful of complaints about them and has stopped installing them on new cars.

i got mine with the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity and untill now my ODO is 39,000 km , they are fine in look and sound while drivin, although i turn hardly and drive in high speeds + don't forget our lovely HOT weather here in Middle East.

im thinking to keep using the same kind for next time

I have to believe these tire problems are the result of either alignment or balancing problems. My wife had Bridgestone Turanza EL42's (same as on my LS460). She had some 46,000 miles on the tires and they still had tread left. The only reason I changed them was they were 7 years old and there was some slight cracking of the tread nearest to the sidewall.

Yeah those Serenity's are a nice tire,was thinking about getting them on the 600 or 460L 19s chrome,Those tires have to be one of the most expensive Ive seen,I priced them at my local tire shop for $340 each 245/45/19.I paid less for 23'' tires on my truck.Tires are one of the most important things due to ride quality and I never go cheap, especially for cars like these.
