Default LS460 SWB Base MSRP Discrepancy

Hey guys,

I was perusing the lot yesterday looking at no fewer than 20 in-stock SWB LS460's as I consider turning in my 08 GS350 for one, and I noticed that some 2008's have a base MSRP of $61,500 while others have a base MSRP of $62,900. Anyone know why this discrepancy exists?

IIRC, the 2008 MSRP was $61,500...but for 2009 it's increased...check $63,975...

Ah, in May 2008 the MSRP was bumped to $62,900:

My guess are those '08s with the lower MSRP are an earlier build date.

We bought our 2008 LS460 SWB at the end of August. Our dealer also had a number of cars with the $61,500 base price, but none of them had the Nav system. All of the cars with the Nav system had a base price of $62,900. We wanted the Nav system, so in effect we paid $3115 plus $1400 (price difference between the older priced car and the more recent priced car) or a total of $4515 for the Nav system, less whatever discount % we got on the car. My thinking was that on a luxury car we really should have the Nav system and the other features that come with it.

Now that I have the Nav system, I am not impressed with it. I prefer my $300 Garmin Nuvi 360 for the ease of operation and the ability to use it while driving. If I could do it over again, I would buy the car without the Nav system and use my Garmin. I also have a bluetooth adapter that clips on the sunvisor, so all I would really be giving up would be the backup camera. I could live without the satellite radio and the Traffic monitoring capability is worthless where we live.

Anyway, we have the Nav and cannot do it over again. By the time we get to purchase our next car, the Nav system will hopefully be improved.

I have the nuvi 350,I can say it is (beginner) user friendly compared to the Lexus nav,I didnt like the lexus nav at first myself,It took a little time to get used to, but it is very well laid out and easy to use once you learn it,maybe you have to give it some more time
