Anyone road-tested the pre-collision sensor?
It occurred to me, as I was wafting round the bays today, what would happen if a car came straight out of a side road in front of me, at right angles to my LS600.
Would the pre-collision sensor activate the brakes?
I ask because the radar cruise control only seems to sense cars directly in front which are moving at round about my speed. If they are stopped in front of me, like traffic lights, the system works only some of the time and I have to use the brakes.
So would the system react to a car coming across your bows in the same way, or would it think it was stationary and decide to stop? Who has tried this?

Mercedes SLK 230 (wifes)
Suzuki Grand Vitara (rain & runaround)

The radar detects the rate of closure, or separation, from the vehicle in front of you. I effectively had your scenario happen to me and the system applied the brakes hard. I did have to hit the horn manually though!

That's encouraging. I haven't yet had the nerve to trial it against a solid wall or similar hard surface because of the 50km/hr minimum speed needed.
