But the real value is that Lexus picks up the tab for maintenance and repairs during the first three years of ownership.

That's one thing I miss about my old crappy benz. I didn't have to pay for servicing.

I had two Mercedes(S430,ML500) and they were always at the dealership for issues. I think the Mercedes is a great looking car. The only issue I have is for the money paid for the cars Mercedes makes it should be the most reliable of the group(Jaguar,Lexus,BMW,Audi,etc.) of luxury cars. I think benz owners that stay with Mercedes stay mainly because of looks and pass on the reliability factor. The older Mercedes seem to have been better built according to owners of Mercedes from the past to the present! I love this story it shows why Lexus makes good sense!

Here in SoCal Lexus of Glendale is running ads for new purchases with maintenance covered for some period at the first years.

I think MB had cancelled the free maintainence in the U.S. for a couple years right ?
