MP3 Playback Info
hi all. I'm new to this forum and will soon be getting my SWB LS 460. I'm wondering about the MP3 playback on the ML audio. does it display all the track info on-screen like song title-artist-album? and if so, where?
looking forward to hearing from you guys and thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to CL, fullmoon!!! Congrats on your LS 460!
Yes, the song information is available on the audio screen like so (note: the Display settings button was also pressed, that's not necessary):

I posted this on another thread, but you can put your iTunes songs onto the HD as long as you burn them in a non-MP3 format. Many probably knew this, but I just discovered it by accident yesterday. My iTunes software wouldn't allow me to burn the songs I bought through iTunes in MP3 format, so I just burned them to a disk in "regular" format (only about 23 or 24 songs per CD vs 130 or so as MP3s). I noticed yesterday that while playing the disk the "record" button was highlighted while playing the disk. I hit the record button and sure enough, it recorded it. Maybe there is a way to record iTune purchased music to MP3 format, but even so, I like having my music on the HD better than the CDs.

So I take it that includes a format available through iTunes? I thought I had loaded all the songs I could or wanted to from my existing CDs, so just happy to know I can get additional music on the HD through some other format.

wow guys thanks for the great help. unfortunately my soon to be car doesn't have HDD (GCC/middle-east spec). one more thing tough, is there a graphical user interface with respect to mp3 song selection? in other words, will i be able to chose the song that i want from hundreds of mp3s on a cd or will i have to cycle from one song to another till i get the one i want?
again thanks for your help.
again thanks for your help.

I'm pretty sure you can choose songs. I have tested a mp3 CD on a Lexus sound system, on which I loaded dozens of mp3s in different folders. I was able to choose the folder using touchscreen/steering wheel controls, and within each folder there were the mp3s I had burned, and I could choose different tracks by name IIRC. Just to note--the system only accepts burned mp3 CDs, not burned mp3 DVDs.
