And I have no idea what it is. I then leave the car, lock the doors and come back later, turn on the car and no beep.

I then drive to another location, stop the car and I haven't touched anything and no beep. The car is giving me a beep randomly and I'm not touching, or turning off / on anything.

Any help would be appreciated.

what kind of beep is it? is it like the sound when you unlock or lock the car? if so you might be pushing the key button in your pocket by accident

I hear the same beep if I open the door before I turn the car off. Not sure why it's doing it, but I just ignore it.

If the engine is running/the car is on, and the key is in your pocket, a beep will sound if you open the door and leave the driver's seat. The car will know that the smart key has left the vehicle. The beep is to let you know that the vehicle is still running/on while the key is leaving the area.

I dont know why the vehicle would beep if the vehicle is turned off and you step out of the vehicle. That is strange to me. You want want to ask your dealer/demonstrate this for a technician.

I often leave the moonroof tilted open and the car beeps once when I open the door to exit. The display also shows a warning that the moonroof is open.

Something doesn't sound right. I don't have that on my car. Only when I leave the car running and walk away from the car, like what Michael said.
I would take it to the dealer and show them. I would also have them try it on another car.

Something I've noticed that might apply here....

If I press the button to cut off the engine before I open the driver side door to exit, I get no beep.

If I open the door first, and then press the button to cut off the engine and step out of the car (I do this sometimes when I'm in a hurry), I get the beep you may be talking about.

I'm not really sure what the car is trying to warn me about, but it doesn't seem to like it when I open the door prior to cutting off the engine.

I think this is what I was doing. I haven't heard a beep since making sure I turned off the engine before opening the door.
