Hello...I have 2 questions

For those with the premium stereo software -

1. Is the only way to get music on the HDD through playing the music and having the system record it?

2. On your parking assist (not the advanced parking assist), when my car gets close to something get the sound but do not see the display on my screen that I did with my other LS (which didn't have the premium stereo so the software features are a little different). Are those with the premium stereo able to see the picture of a car and the colored bars when getting too close to an object. Btw, yes, I've checked and the feature button on the car is turned on...is there somewhere in the software that I need to tweak to have it display? I use the display when parking in my garage.

On the HDD, I believe you have to record from CD's. I also have been able to record from the hybrid SACD/CD but not the DVD-A's which do play. You can set the record at fast speed, so a CD is recorded in about 4-5x faster. When the recording is complete, there is a beep and a message, so you can advance to the next CD to record. So if you are out on a one hour trip, you can record about 6 CD's. I use the higher resolution, which I can easily hear the quality. This has limited me to about 120 CD's on the HDD.

As far as the parking assist, the picture of the car does come with the indicators and the beeps, even when the HDD is playing.

for the parking assist, i think there is option in the nav system to turn it on and off, check the manual

on the hdd, yes, only way. but with the fast mode usually it's only like 2-3 songs and it record the whole cd. not bad (though i never use that feature)
