Default Headrest Removal

I just received my ROCKY MOUNTAIN SHEEPSKIN for the driver's seat. I had one that was GREAT on my old 2004 LS430. Anyway, the old one came with velcro so that you did not have to remove the headrest. This one does not. I called the guy at Rocky Mountain and he wasn't sure if the headrest can be removed or if I'd have to ship the skin back to them and have them install velcro like the old one. If it wasn't such a great product I'd be more pyzzed than I am that they don't know what to do and should before they make & ship their premium product. That being said, it appears that the headrest cannot be user-removed easily and they'll have to modify lambie's skin.

Or CAN it be easily removed??

Since the headrests are electric, I wouldn't think you could remove them easily. I would check with your Lexus dealer.

Yeah the manual simply says to contact your Lexus dealer for removal, and also advises not to drive with headrests removed (of course).

Daryl, Can't help you on the removal but could you give more details on the sheepskin cover? What makes it so great? No offense but I just picture a ghetto Impala with sheep skin fur seat covers.

Thanks,

Nothin' ghetto about this. It's a custom made top quality sheepskin. IT IS FABULOUS. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Soft. Colors available to match your interior. It takes driving ANY car to a new level.

Oh, I have NOTHING to do with the company other than just being a satisfied customer.

Will this affect the heated cooled front seats? They do blow air and I would hate to think I could suffocate and damage the system.

Edit:
Just check out the link. Although it does look comfy, no offense but it does look ghetto-licious to me.

For years Mercedes and Volvo owners used sheepskins. Nothing ghetto about that. Anyway, the heated/cooled seat does blow thru the lambie, but you don't feel it as much and not as fast. Truthfully with the skin you rarely need temp control anyway. To me it's worth the tradeoff.

Interesting, do you wear a Light Purple Suit with bell bottoms, platform heels, and a hat with a wide brim?

Again no offense Daryl but my wife would kill me if I did this as comfy as it appears to be.

Truthfully my wife doesn't like it either, but not because she perceives it as "ghetto" but because she thinks it will be too hot. We'll see in February! Again, I take no offense. Mercedes and Volvo owners have been using lambskins for years without ghettoizing their vehicles!
