I think the tests are fair. The skid-pad & brake-turn tests are the type of events that most of us experience at one time or another. Not surprisingly, the WRX STI is right up there, and not too far was the BMW550i, with the LS460 placing twelfth on the brake-turn. Not bad compared to vehicles in its own class. They put a lot of thought into the comparison, especially bringing in the automotive engineering aspects, which a lot of Western media completely overlook.

i don't think it has anything to do with the drivers, it's more about the tests imho. you hardly see these types of tests from european magazines or tv shows, mostly they just have track times, which i totally understand how some euro cars would fly. but personally i quite like tests like these where they tests different stuff that might sometimes matter more in our lives
