Default Verizon BlueTooth: NO phonebook transfer?!?

Can anyone out there clarify this for me? We have no problem getting our phones to pair with the car and they work perfectly for calling. However, we can't get our phonebooks to transfer from the phone to the car. Our salesman told us that Verizon phones do NOT permit this...

The salesman is correct that the VZW phone will not upload via bluetooth the entire phonebook from the phone. Manual input is needed into the LS phonebook but it actually goes pretty quick and works like a champ when you have what you need in the LS's phonebook. Be sure to record a voice tag for the ones you call most frequently so you can dial by name via the voice recognition system.

It has nothing to do with Lexus.

Verizon is just a monopolistic company that hates it's customers. They see $$ instead of service.

An exception to this is the Verizon Treo 650 and 700P. You can use the Palm software to transfer the contacts and phone numbers.

Default Transfer of Phonebook to the LS460

My new LG VX8300 works just fine-it allowed transfer of the phone's phone book to my LS460 in groups of 10 numbers. I have Verizon Wireless. Of note-the Lexus USA web site has a cell phone section that describes what features work or do not work for each carrier and specific phone. For my LS460-I found the info accurate-at least for the VX8300 and Verizon

genearch - thanks for correcting me.
I guess I typed first before thinking about what was going on.

I'm just not a fan of any wireless carrier, especially Verizon.

We have two BT phones: a Motorola Razr V3 and a Palm Treo 700p. Neither will synch the phone book...

Who are your service providers for each phone?

Recently verizon has released a firmware update. Supossedly it allows BT connectivity on the treo 650, but I updated it, and it stile DOESN'T work!!! Man, Verizon needs to do something about this. Actually, it is worse now. My treo doesn't recognize the Lexus anymore. Very frustrating. If anyone gets it to work, please advise. Thanks.

Try the following with your Treo 650.

Whn you go throgh the process to pair the Treo with the Lexus it will probably hang up at some point as if the car and the phone do not see each other. When that happens and while the Nav screen is still showing a problem connecting, dial a phone number on the Treo handset and push send. The call should go through the car system and speakers and the Treo should pair automatically after that.

As others have stated, VZW cripples BT on most of their phones. A common gripe on howardforums.com from customers.

Might want to check out the Lexus BT site as well: http://lexus.com/models/LS/accessori...l?s_ocid=30033 Link posted already I see, so it's redundant

Question: can we transfer our phonebooks to another device -- in this case a Palm LifeDrive -- and use it to transfer this information via BlueTooth to the car?
