I'm pretty sure this "survey" will change when the LS rolls out. I mean just look at the GS, it's slowly changing the way "hip-hoppers" look at Lexus.

I think its a little too slowly. Even the sales of GS have bombed. I think GS lacks sex-appeal. The new IS and LS have it though.

They should quickly fix the GS sheet-metal or do something.

Just like I sent an email to that Dan Neil character, this is simply a new kind of luxury and we should just get used to it. Why should Lexus burn out all their future concept designs now? They are doin' quite well with what is going on today,(it already got the Germans scrambling like chickens with their heads are cut off) and so far Lexus has not tried to fullest extent.... it's only a matter of time. Of coarse there will always be those critics that have something to say about Lexus one way or the other, but at the end of the day Lexus has been in the game for only 17 years and counting, that is where those critics are having a hard time accepting. Not the car, but the "name"....so for those critics out there including the ones on this CL forum that agrees with "DANNY BOY" or somewhere along those lines....try looking past that "so called" problem and look ahead of the future....whatever way you say and see it Lexus is here to stay....."So get used to it!"

p.s. the funny thing is...that this was the same reaction when the 1st LS400 was unveiled....and look where they are today?!?!?....Can you say Deja-Vu???

If soul means making payments on a 7 series while driving a loaner 3 series, I guess I'm ok with owning a car with no soul.

Actually kind of a sweet treat if you ask me. I'd love to have a 3-series for a week or so - such a fun car - as opposed to the RAV4 I got stuck with!

Seriously - fun thread - and thanks to JLSC4 for turning me on to it. I do however hope that I'm not one of the BMW zealots that TRDFantasy speaks of - I respect almost every car make out there - mostly for their individual focus and goals. True that many of them are not for me, but that doesn't make them bad car manufacturers.

Personally I found Dan's review of the LS interesting and I wish more auto writers would let loose like him - even if I don't always agree with them. They inspire great debates like this one and some seriously funny responses (as well as some well thought out ones). Made my night.

It's quite funny how many people are determined to see Lexus fail.

The new LS460 will certainly cause headaches for the competition, and be a big success, whether Dan Neil likes it or not.
