Bangkok Post LS460 Review
http://www.bangkokpost.com/Motoring/...6_motor002.php
bankkokpost.com does not keep their URL static so you might have to hit their Motoring Home page and look for the article yourself:

Some surprising comments:
"Push the starter button and you can now hear the engine at idle, particularly when standing outside the car. In the old LS, it was so quiet that you might have thought that the engine wasn't cranked yet."
"The quality of the materials is impressive, although the build in some areas don't feel as bullet-proof as in a 7-series"
"The LS is almost as peerlessly quiet as its German opposition and delivers a higher level of grip and poise than in the old model"
Waaaa?

There! At last something the LS 430 was better at--quieter at start. I am getting green with envy at all this talk of how much better the LS 460 is...so, now the power windows slow at the final bit for a 'more harmonious sound.' So, the wood steering wheel is sanded for 3 hours, not 30 minutes as in the old model. So, the car parks itself, paint this and that blah blah blah.
OK, I'm just in slight denial about how much better the LS 460 is...yes, I admit it is a quantum leap ahead.
And the review notes that compared to its competition, it is the closest in comfort levels to a Maybach!
They also got a detail wrong--its 19 speaker ML not 11 speaker, the 11 speaker is the LS 430!!!

well this is where they said it wrong, I believe:
The 11-speakers would not be a ML system? I thought the ML reference sound system was 19 speakers.
Not to be outdone by the S-class, the LS's seats have hot/cool air ventilation and massage function, all-round sun screens, plus remote controls for individual-zone air-con system and for the grand-sounding 11-speaker sound system from Mark Levinson that can best be described as a mobile home theatre.
