A story with a happy ending and a new beginning, and it's not "Star Wars"!

I'd say "enjoy your new car", but it's obvious you will! After not quite 2 years, I still look for reasons to drive my LS460.

I agree. If that was available when I ordered my car, I definitely would have gotten that.

Congratulations Ft1. It's a lovely vehicle! You definitely paid full retail for her but she is in lovely shape and if it's the one the extra money is worth it. I also like the flaxen interior. I had saddle in my 430 which was pretty similar in color. Now just pick up a copy of Teachstream and customize her like you want. I just did the same on the Audi with their system called VCDS. The level of customization is pretty amazing. Definitely worth having for your Toyota vehicles.

Its very impressive that you ordered your $80,000 car 10 years ago and still are not replacing it. You would figure someone who could afford to do this would be getting a new one more often. That's quite the testament to the LS460.

Thank you, Gbp! I'm still giddy from this morning. Have spent the past few hours getting to know the car more and transferring contents from the LS 430 over to the 460. Took the wife and our 5-year-old daughter for a spin around the neighborhood. It's funny, both of them find cars "boring" and my wife didn't want the rear reclining seats at all...then they both sat in the back and were giggling with each other as they played with the recline, side sun shades, and massage feature, lol. They loved the ability to set their own temperatures separately in the rear. Am very glad we got the Ultra Lux, which seems to be a rarer option on 2013+ than on 2007-2012. I also find it amusing that more white 2007-2012 460s have started appearing just when I decided to get 2013+.

Below is a list of what I thought was important at the beginning of this search compared to what we actually purchased. I barely hit half of the must-haves but ended up much happier than I could have imagined, with more than a little help from some friends at CL.

I didn't realize our 2013 doesn't have a CD-changer. It has the ML audio upgrade but is only single-disc as far as I can tell. No bother though since it supports MP3 format and I've tested streaming audio from my phone already. Below are a few more photos. I will sincerely miss our 430 and it will occupy a special place in my heart. At least it will still stay in the family and is being adopted by my parents.

I still have the winter mats in the car. Will switch to the Luxe mats soon!! They are very plush and much nicer than the carpet mats that came with the car. Embroidered logos would be nice but the metal logos work quite nicely. Check it out!

Great result.... Hope to see you and your 460 at the next Nor Cal meet.... If your folks don't want the '06 let me know.... (I am thinking about replacing the '01 with an '06...)....

I really like your interior as well but the wife did not..... She went with the light grey.

Thank you, Duck! Gonna give the 430 a good cleaning, inside and out, before delivering to my parents. My Dad will be the primary driver. He asked me to find him an LS "just like yours" when we bought the 430 last April. I never was able to come across another 430 in similar condition so this works out better that Dad gets the genuine article. Now my Dad just needs to figure out what to do with his Tundra. He did mention wanting to downsize to a Tacoma but I think a Tacoma double cab is just as long as a Tundra.

In the event my Dad actually doesn't keep the LS, tallcaguy (3rd Gen forum) and you will be the first to know...but truthfully I had specific orders from Dad not to sell the 430 because he really does want it.

How do we find out more about NorCal meetups?

Congratulations - thrilled it all worked out for you in the end! I love the photos, and boy, that Flaxen interior is beautiful. I've always been a fan of "uncommon" interior colors, and it is nice that Lexus began offering them more broadly in years past. Enjoy the car in great health.

Thank you, caha! We took a trip out to the country to visit a place called Daffodil Hill. Upon parking we were approached by a nice gentleman who asked the name of the leather option. He is looking to redo the leather in his Jeep and really likes the Flaxen.
