Which setting is best for longevity of Air Ride Susp?
Thinking about this the other day: Which setting is "easiest" on the supension?
It seems to me that running in Sport mode, with increased dapening and stiffness would wear on the components much quicker than the Comfort setting, but I could see how the opposite could be true as well. Does anybody know? This is my first vehicle with air ride, she currently has 80K miles so I'm looking to replace in 20K, but would like to make sure it doesn't fail me before then.
TIA

No setting will extend longevity. Keeping them clean especially in the winter if you are driving on roads treated with salt is the best you can do. I got 160k miles out of my air-shocks in my 430 without issues. They can last a really long time and some fail early.

Heart of Texas so no worries about salted roads, and very cool to hear they lasted you so long! Maybe that's a better question:
- How long did your air struts last before they needed to be replaced? Also, were all miles at standard height or was a controller in use?

From the various forums I read and speaking to multiple air-susp owners, this is really a toss-up. I mean in general Lexus is more reliable when it comes to air suspension, that said I've heard some go out within the first 2-3 years of ownership, some who go for 100k+ miles with no issues and no discernible pattern to driving habits that determine the longevity. I'd say have a mechanic check on them every time you go in for the condition of the rubber...
