Default Anyone know how to access Nav/DVD/Radio in a 2013+ LS460 for Vais or Beatsonic Bypass

Has anyone posted instructions or a video on how to access (get to) the back of the nav/dvd/radio unit on 4th Gen (2013+) screens? I want to plug my headrest DVD units directly the back of the integrated DVD unit with a Vais or Beatsonic bypass, can this be done? Thanks for any help!

Hi Nate, I just installed the Beatsonic Nav Bypass and iPhone mirroring kits. I will be posting a detailed thread in a few days. A professional car audio shop did the installation. The bypass kits (VAIS/Beatsonic) are plug-and-play, so you should be able to get that work done pretty easily if you know how to take the panels off and access the internals (everything is behind the audio/DVD console not the Nav screen itself). The Beatsonic kit came with detailed installation instructions for the 2013+ LS, and I am sure the VAIS kit will also, so you shouldn't have any trouble with the bypass kit installation. Now, I know nothing about how you would tap a signal off the DVD player. Either you have to fashion a tap off from the DVD output cable that provides input to the Nav screen or fashion a new harness that will accomplish that.

The folks at Beatsonic (Eric Kwon and Sam Cho) are incredibly helpful and will spend lots of time explaining things patiently over the phone. I am sure the VAIS bypass kit is very good also, but I am preferential to the Beatsonic kit because Eric helped me a figure out a solution that allowed me to do iPhone mirroring and install a front camera. I suggest you get in touch with Eric and Sam (contact info below), and explain what you want. I am pretty certain they can make it happen. Good luck and keep us posted.
