Default Naviskauto DVD 10.1 Inch install on a 2014 LS460

So guys and gals, I installed these into my LS the other day (one day after I got her). Although not quite OEM (wire going from unit to behind seat) I couldn't find another way to hide them, it otherwise turned out good. I found out the hard way that you DO NOT have remove the headrests. I am going to paint the wires with parchment paint (already ordered from Amazon) to better disguise them. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up. I also posted this install on YouTube under my pseudonym (sorry it is a long video).
The units were about $130 or so each on Amazon. Not bad for an install under $300.

I also installed some dvd screens a couple days ago. The wires go down the seat the same way as yours then I put the wires through the hole where the power seat wiring goes through after removing the seats. The wires went under the carpet to the center console behind the cigarette lighter plug then I wired it using t taps. Both screens are also hooked up to the stock dvd player.

Default Nice!

That's a clean install. I don't have the patience and skill to wire it to the head unit (stock DVD player). I wish I could have. I'm planning on using these cheapo units for a bit then I will just put in a magnetized headrest mount for my kids' ipads and let them use bluetooth headphones or the bluetooth in the car to listen to audio. Looks good, very OEM and clean. BTW do you know how to get to the head unit on a 2013-up model? I would love to patch in for a hardwire that is connected to the battery and head unit DVD player. Right now it is plugged into a cigarette lighter adapter in the console so the kids have to turn on the player everytime we get in the car. Thanks for any insight.

I went with a cheaper route, so I bought
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B2TBIQ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B2TBIQ2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and connected the iPad for my kid. I used Document5 and downloaded videos for the kid to watch offline.

You know what Kuhan, that is a smart solution, especially with all the bluetooth headphones nowadays. As long as you remember the iPad for each trip it is a cheaper solution. I'll be doing the same once these crap out, I hope to get at least a year out of them or so first.

Did your wire run down the headrest pole or do you have an inch or so visible?

I saw this guy who had the mount come out of the part of the seat that pops off so you don't see any wires. Very different than the mount you both used.

Nice work by the way.

Instead of under the OEM head rest the mound comes up from right below the monitor.

Found another example of the mount I was referring to.
