I'm not shocked by that. It's to be expected. But for that same behemoth to have the capability to knock down 30 mpg (granted ideal conditions) is amazing.

I'm convinced, with little traffic, clear conditions, cool temps, little wind, and on mostly flat ground...say, out west in Nevada/Utah/AZ/NM...at 70 mph, or so, I wager I could eek 33.0-34.0 out of it.

Sure, that's not Prius territory, but then again, it's not a penalty box, either.

I think you may be correct. Too bad just anybody can't use TAPG's (Toyota Arizona Proving Ground) 10 mile test track.

Under those nearly exact conditions, (60mph though), I managed 34.5 based on my dash display. How accurate that display is, I don't know, but good enough for comparison sakes.

I've found the MPG readout is about 10% off (high) when compared to pump gallons and a calculator.

I track every single fuel purchase...have done this since my first vehicle...so give me another few months, and I'l have enough data to give you a firmer number.

Just to add some data to this thread. I drove my LS through NC yesterday, about 5 hrs total driving time. Went pretty easy on the speed to see how much that helped, and surprisingly didn't see much of a difference between 70mph and 80+. 27.5mph is what the computer said at the end of the day. I'll take that all day.

I did spend some time mid-day driving in a friends 2016 TLX Acura. I was not terribly impressed. It was smooth and had a decent ride, but it was not the same inside as the LS. The start/stop of the engine at lights is irritation.
