Power mirror noise when folding in
I've noticed the driver side power mirror is significantly louder than the passenger side when it folds in. Is there an easy way to lube the mirror motor or is there anything I can do to make it quieter?

It is my understanding that the whole mirror assembly has to be replaced if there is anything wrong with it. My drivers side does not make a louder noise when folding in, but it is loose and I can see it moving at the base when the car is moving at higher speeds. Dare I say, potentially creating wind noise? I was told the whole thing had to be replaced at an unfathomable cost, including taking the door off.

My driver's side folding mirror stop working without any warning. I'm not sure what's involved in repairing it but it cost $1100 and covered under my extended warranty. Otherwise it still wouldn't be working.
