Default Melting Interior Parts

2009 Lexus LS 460 - I have melting door arm panels and part of the dash is melting.

Today I saw a NBC report on melting dashboards and have written to the law firm helping owners seeking remedies: http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/M...290680361.html

The lawyer is Juan Bauta at: http://www.ferrarolaw.com/
If anyone has any further info regarding this issue please let me know

What exactly would one be suing for? They are replacing the panels out of warranty for free. Can't get much better than that.

People like that are one of the reasons people hate lawyers.

Default Suing?

I don't know if a suit is contemplated, but the lawyer's interest seems to have had the desired effect. I'm curious to hear what others, with the same problem, have resolved. I hope I get a response from the dealer or Lexus Corporate tomorrow. If, part of what I read is true, then it would seem a suit would be unnecessary. According to the news report I watched, Lexus was going to limit its coverage, but now will include cars up to ten years told, which is great!

Great News! This afternoon I rec'd a call from Lisa, Case Manager Dist 4, who advised Lexus agreed to do a Goodwill replacement to my 2009 Lexus LS 460, for the melting parts of the interior of the car. I reported the issues concerning the door arms rests and the dashboard parts.

I'm told the parts will be coming directly to the dealer from Japan and that she doesn't know how long the parts will take to arrive, but the dealership will contact me when the parts come in. She also said the parts may not all come together, that it may take more than a single visit to the dealership to accomplish the replacement. I'm just glad they have agreed.

At this point, I am very pleased with the response from Lexus. It is highly likely my wife's next vehicle will be a Lexus.
