2011 LS600h
Hello everyone.
Recently I bought a 2012 LS460. We like the car so much, I am now considering changing my other car to another LS.... I drive quite a bit (15K-18K per year) and need a comfortable cruiser. My wife uses the LS460. An opportunity to get an LS600h with 20K miles came up... Any thoughts on what's a fair price? The 600h drives incredibly well. I was quite impressed by it.

Is the car being sold as a Certified Pre-Owned by a Lexus Dealer? Private party? Kelly Blue book seems to indicate the car is worth in the neighborhood of $55-59K.
There has been lots of discussion on the forum lately about the falling prices for the LS600hLs, though, so you may be able to get a better price (or may want to be wary of future large depreciation hits to this vehicle due to the unpredictability of the costly hybrid batteries). A 2011 should have a battery warranty that goes through roughly 2019...

Look at another 460. Get the L version loaded and you'll be close to the 600hl without the hybrid issues down the road.
I say that, but I have heard from 600hl owners who say everything is better in the 600, so take that with a grain of salt.

Interesting.... I drove it last night. It does feel completely different. Extremely heavy and highly refined. Leather dash, etc.

You'll have to weigh the slight risk of a post-warranty battery failure to the advantages of owning the "flagship of flagships." I've owned both the LS460 and the LS600, and can attest to the benefits of the 600 over the 460. If the price is right, I'd say go for it!

It's a 2-owner with a great history, originally placed in service in March of 2011 (so the battery warranty will be good through Mar of 2019). Price is actually pretty good, too, I think. Many of the minor problems with the early year models would probably not be present in this one (wind noise, etc.). Love the dash on the 2011s also!

After reading these post's amidst the few different threads, I'd simply like to drive a 600 to feel the difference between it and a 460.
From reading about the 600 ownership experiences, what seems to be the common trend is the driving experience. The instant horsepower and the incredibly smooth drivetrain.
If you're in your car often; a 'driver', and plan on keeping the car, like a few others have mentioned, if the current price is right, and you're doing your due diligence regarding research and are aware of the potential issues, be sure to purchase the VSA warranty, pocket for the way down the road expense (post-warranty), then go for it.
Also, as others have stated, its quite possible that by the time your warranty expires and if you do experience issues with the hybrid system, I would assume you'd have more options available to you regarding a reasonably priced repair.
I have yet to hear/read about anyone complaining about owning a 600, aside from the recent talks of hybrid issues. The fact that it is a rather unique vehicle coupled with the fact that, from what I understand, is fun to drive, if all checks out, make the purchase.

They are asking for 53k. I wonder what was the original msrp. It doesn't have the seats with the foot rests but has the reclining seats, etc. it also has radar cruise. I would totally buy it but need to first secure that I have a buyer for my Bmw lease. I am trying to exit it and it usually takes 2-4 weeks. Doubt the car will still be on the market then but who knows...

If this the 600hL you truly want and you are impressed, the asking price is reasonable, then I suggest you go for it. A fair price is often based on how bad we want something. Good Luck!
