Door courtesy light
Hey guys, I'm slowly changing over my interior lights with LED's. I changed out all of the door courtesy bulbs (T-10's) with small panel LED's but my passenger door does not work, with original bulb or led. I was thinking that it was the door switch but when the door is opened the overhead console lights come on ?? I removed the rear door courtesy housing ( that works in that door)with bulb and put it in the passenger front door and nothing. I was also thinking of a blown fuse but everything is working fine (locks, gas door, all other door courtesy lights...) ????? Any help would be appreciated !!

Well, you check the fuses just to be sure? Look really carefully at the fuses? Sometimes they might be on a different fuse then what might be obvious. You can also verify if the socket is getting voltage by a simple DC voltmeter or multimeter and test the electrode inside the socket with the door open (on). No voltage then something is amiss, either a blown fuse or maybe something else.
Sorry, that's the extent of my suggestions.

Thanks guys, I am going to check the socket with my multimeter (when I can find it). I did take the leads from the LED and put them in the socket and only half of the LED"s came on and they were very dim which leads me to believe I have a bad ground somewhere ?? Next will be fuses.

Could be. If you have a high resistance ground, the normally 12 volts to the socket (or whatever it is, assuming it isn't stepped down), would be lower. Those are always hard to find, though.
Check DC voltage on a similar good socket versus that one to see the voltage differences. If the good one shows around 12 and the bad one is a lot less then that might give you an indication. If they are the same, well...
I would still check fuses.
Good luck!
