Any good service shops in Northern NJ
Hi Guys,
Picking up my second Lexus today . 2009 ls460 AWD with 65k miles. I want to do the 60k mile service. Is there any good non-lexus service shop anybody might recommend? Toyota and/or after market? or should i do my first service at a Lexus dealer? I used Englewood before. They are good guys, but as usual they are always on the upsell .
thanks

I don't remember there being much to do on the 60K mile service other than inspecting and replacing air filters if I am not mistaken. You can order the filters and do it yourself if you are so inclined. And Welcome. Be sure to post up some pics of it.

Hi there!
Thank you for your reply. Here is what the driver site recommends
Replace engine oil and oil filter
Replace brake fluid
Replace cabin air filter
Replace engine air filter
Replace spark plugs
Measure thickness and runout of brake rotors
Measure thickness of front brake pads and rotors
Reset maintenance reminder light
Road test vehicle
Check for fluid leaks
Inspect axle shaft boots
Inspect ball joints and dust covers
Inspect body
Inspect body/chassis
Inspect brake lines and hoses
Inspect drive belt(s)
Inspect engine coolant
Inspect exhaust pipes and mounting
Inspect front differential oil
Inspect fuel lines and connections, fuel tank band and fuel tank vapor vent system hoses.
Inspect fuel tank cap gasket
Inspect steering linkage and boots
Inspect transfer case
Inspect transmission for signs of leakage
Program Lexus Personalized Settings, if requested
Visually inspect brake pads, calipers and rotors
Goodness, it looks like so much. And I just get the feeling if you go over everything with a fine tooth comb you will find issues no matter what. Many of them might not even require a fix but are just to be overly precautions. Costing me a lot and giving me a bad feeling about my new baby . I guess it's always that feeling of a new used car owner.
Thanks again and any advice is appreciated
