Yep, Lexus would be the last option . So far the reviews I got on the tires these wheels came with are all, over the place. I'm not the one to go cheap on tires. So new tires will probably be installed before I do some serious motoring. The car basically is my road trip car.

As for price, I paid $500 for 5 wheels with tires. Spare has a new Turanza tire on it.
Price was good I think. In the past they were 800-1200 without tires and all over the map, which is why I had hard time spending money on a wheel set that I could not inspect, plus shipping and no real need for them as my car came with fresh set of michelins. This deal being so close to my house and in great condition was a no brainer. Thing is, I love original 18s, but at the same time I wouldn't mind switching out to factory 19s every half a year and now I can.

Nicely done. If I could get a set of those wheels in good shape for $500 I'd do it without a second thought. On the internet, they are way, way more expensive.

At that price, you didn't buy them; you stole them! For these particular wheels, anything less than $250 per wheel (no rubber) in good condition has historically been an outstanding price. You got 5 of them with tires and sensors - great deal!

Yeah, $500 is a great deal. Deals like that can pop up on craiglist. There are plenty of dealers down in SoCal asking upwards of $1500-$2k just for stock 19" OEM wheels which I think is nuts. The 18" wheels are just fine but I'll keep my eye out for a deal on a set of 19".

Is there a noticeable ride comfort difference between 18" and 19"?
Or is it more based upon the tire selection?
I know dal20402 touched upon this in a different thread, I just wanted to confirm the notion, as I thought I recalled a thread where members were speaking about noticeable ride comfort between the two size's, even though its only an inch difference.

You scored on that deal. That's just a sweet purchase. Wow.

I'm curious myself.
If I see the car is taking a major beating I'll go back to 18s. But since the car is mainly used on weekends and for long drives I should be ok.

I have to take some responsibility for Greg's poor experience. He told me he based his purchase in part on my recommendation of these tires. I have some 40,000 miles on the tires and they have been great. Although I will say the Pirelli P Zero Nero I had previously were better on wet roads. I don't know if Greg just got a bad batch or if Continental changed their manufacturing process.

As it stands now, when I have to replace them I think I will go with the Pirellis.

I drove a couple of 19" equipped cars when looking for my car and didn't notice a significant difference. Maybe slightly harsher impact on bigger bumps if you're *really* paying attention. Others' mileage may vary.

Even going to my 18" winter tires from my 20" Summer's, I can barely tell the difference.

I could actually tell the difference, FWIW.

My 460L on air had 18s, and that car, with the now-discontinued Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires was the smoothest ride I can remember in recent years (this, of course, after all my vibration issues were resolved - control arms, steering rack, the whole thing...).

When I installed the Primacy tires on the 19s, there was definitely a difference. The car was still very smooth - don't get me wrong, but the 18s took it to a different level. Of course, the enhanced looks of the 19s more than made up for any slight change in ride. These used to be my summer wheels on the 460; they are now my winter wheels on the 600.

Exactly what I picked up for mine, snows on the original wheels.
