Dumped the LS 460L, upgraded to 745Li!!!
Well,
I couldn't take it any longer. I was just having too many unreliability problems with the LS. I had the following problems:
So I traded it in on a well used 2004 BMW 745Li. I traded it in for the increased reliability of the BMW heritage. That plus the sound system in the BMW was WAY better than the Mark Levinson.
The BMW dealer that had this used gem was certainly proud of this thing. I couldn't negotiate them down much. And I'll be honest, I lost my **** on the LS. It was like the salesman explained, it was the lack of quality of the LS is why the trade-in value is so low.
I also have the added benefit of iDrive and the much more user-friendly Navigation system.

- Front brakes warped - Cost me over $19 to fix this heap.

Well, sorry to see you go, and congrats and I wish you good luck with your new car.
However, I have to say that a BMW salesperson saying that the LS460 lacks quality compared to a 745 has got to be the biggest snow job since someone said the check is in the mail. Be sure to get an extended warranty.

Which I did by the way and they offered me 5k on the BMW which was an insult. Sold it privately for 12K but it has taken a long time even though I had the cheapest listing in my area.
If I'm not mistaken the 2004 BMW 7 series has the title as the worst reliable car of the decade.

Glad you got what you wanted. Agree that no matter where you buy, the dealer will like their car better. Just for fun I did some research on the 2004 745Li. Top negative comments: expensive, not fuel economic, high maintenance.

OK, I guess the cat is out of the bag. I was sucked in hook, line and sinker. Right after I posted I realized it and my second post acknowledged it. Then I thought, no, let the others be taken in so I deleted it.
Then right after that seekhalilg posted "April Fools to you too" and I edited it to "Good luck to you too". I sent him a PM apologizing for editing his post. It's embarrassing for a newbie to show me up!

As the former owner of a 7 series who traded in for my current LS, I knew it HAD to be an Aprils Fools joke.
But for the record....if it WEREN'T.....I would personally drive down your way and tune you up!!!

You're good bunch of guys! I thought I was going to get absolutely ROASTED. Because I think every line I posted was just enough wrong to slowly boil one's sentiment over to, "this guy's an idiot, good riddance."
