Default How much as your LS460 depreciated?

Is this normal?

Purchased a Certified LS460 Oct 2012 for $32,000 and 59,000 miles.
Recently told it's worth $15,000 (NADA Trade in $20,000)* and has 93,600 miles

Cost per mile 49 cents or $708 per month.

*Auto trader has one for sale for $20,000 Retail with similar milage.

I'm thinking more between 20k to 25k depending on condition. But I would not take 15k, that's for sure

(purchased mine around the same time CPO with 60k but I didn't put that many miles on it as you. mine has 72k now)

Look up the trade in value on Kelly blue book. I suspect it will be lower than you think. Dealers always offer below blue book ( or NADA black book).

Regardless of any new vehicles make or model it seems after about 3 years its depreciation really accelerates. Lexus is no exception and personally I feel the LS is one of the best automobile that's made. I purchased my 2010 over two years ago and I've noticed how its depreciating. It's still a great automobile.

I'd buy a used 460 for 15k with that mileage all day. Doesn't seem to go with prices I'm seeing on autotrader

Bought my 2010 L about 2 years ago with 48K miles for $48K. Worth about $40K now from I can tell. Put 22K miles on it. So, about $0.37/mile. I may be a little high on what it's worth now. I still love the car. Washed it today. That always reminds me what I love about the car. When clean a black on black L looks awesome!

All cars depreciate especially those that are out of the reach of mean average most people can spend on a car. The more expensive the car is on the initial purchase the worse the depreciation is going to be in the fist few years.
The second round of low millage used cars are a good value but that also depreciates more then the your new Honda Accord or Camry but there will come a point where it will start to level off if you keep the car for a good while and rack up the millage.
Accords and Camrys can command a better price always not just because they are reliable but because they are in demand by the general public.
If you don't keep your high end luxury car that long then you end up losing the most, but for some it's not a big deal because these people have disposable incomes.

Private owner sale your car is worth $28 - $22 grand. Depending on condition and options. 15 grand is dealer black book. Wholesale.

$5000/yr depreciation is about right (once you are past the first year or so). But, total cost of ownership is closer to about $15,000/yr or nearly $1/mile. But, it could be worse - a 2014 LS600h will cost you $140,000 to own and operate the first five years or nearly $2/mile.

This is why 80% of millionaires purchase used cars. 140 grand for the 600 is high. Maybe with sales tax and every option.
