Default Got fed up with the Lexus

I traded in the LS460 L yesterday. I got fed up with all the little issues it had, one after the other and these parts aren't cheap. I picked up a 2011 Mercedes Benz S63 AMG with extra warranty.

Nice! Fingers crossed you won't have the problems with the Merc that you had with the LS.

OOH Looks nice. Went for the big boy huh? How is it so far? Anything you miss, anything new to the Merc that the Lex didn't have? How about some things you love/hate?

I ask, because I have been thinking about an S550.

Congrats! Nice one.

I just did the opposite... had a 2000 S430, a 2006 E350 and a 1993 300E... got rid of the first 2, as there is no little issues with MBs... everything costs at least a 1000$ to fix. Compare to the 1993 tank, MBs are not like they used to. And I really got fed up of the attitude of the dealerships and MB Canada. They are arrogant. They charge too much for doing nothing and if you dare try to go elsewhere, they will snob you to death.

Got 2 LSs. So far so good. And at least the dealerships treat us like customers.

Trying to sell the 300E.... but having a hard time to let go of the REAL MB...

Good luck with the S63... a wonderful machine!

Beautiful car, but honestly.....you think that the Lex was troublesome. You are in for some fun now....good thing you got the warranty. :-) On that note, I'm surprised you got the warranty with it. According to MB world forums, NOBODY is giving or selling warranties with these cars. Good on you.

After my 7 series fiasco (German cars are not what they used to be), I will not soon own a German car again.

But she SUUUURE is purty!!

Since you got one that's towards the end of the generation cycle, it shouldn't have too many problems. Congrats.

LOL that one will cost you two arms and two legs to maintain, just wait and see...

I have my 2007 LS-460 since brand new and never had one issue with it. Did you buy yours used, probably from someone that didn't take care of it?

The Lexus ride was much much smoother than the Mercedes.

I hated the navigation system in the Lexus, if there were overhead ramps on the highway the Lexus would get confused. I also hated that you couldn't input anything while the car was in motion.

I loved the one touch memory seat setting in the Lexus, the Mercedes you have to hold down the button.

The Mercedes DOES NOT have a heated steering wheel!!! WTF!!! its a Canadian car and I'm in Canada!!! I am really going to miss that feature.

This is probably a small issue but still bothers me, the windshield spray for the Mercedes streams, it doesn't spray the whole windshield.

Lexus air suspension took longer to raise compared to the Mercedes.

My passengers miss the shiatsu massage, I on the other hand am benefiting this time lol... The shiatsu massage in the Lexus can't compare to the Mercedes. That was the best feature in the Lexus or any vehicle for that matter.

In all I am happy with the Mercedes (for now). I hope I don't run into any major issues.

With the Lexus, I live in Canada and for some reason Toyota like to double the prices of parts here. One of the air ride sensors went on the car. In Canada it was $875 for the part plus our stupid 13% tax. I went to buffalo and got the part for $490 including tax.

I have never heard of this so I guess they don't make them like they used to cause with my 1995 Sc, no little things are breaking. In this case, this is a totally different caliber of car but the comparison works flawlessly, I'm just a bit incredulous to it. How can a car in a different realm work so much better? I bet I could get a business class flier to utilize my near 20 year old Sc vehicle, that evry1 thinks is a 2005, as a uber taxi before an Ls 460.
Don't get me wrong, its a nice car but I don't think the build quality is what it used to be. If you do an in depth search in this forum you will see people actually love their LS430 a lot more than the LS460.

I have not seen another affordable car with this many features in the Lexus. Maybach, Rolls etc are way out of a normal persons price range. The LS460 has majority of the items these ridiculously expensive cars have but at an affordable price.

Sorry to say but there are many many complaint threads in here and all what people have complained about I was experiencing.

Toyota has dropped a bit in quality IMO.

Everything on that AMG will be hella expensive to repair. I was Looking at s550's for a long time before I got my ls. I wanted one badly but all the reviews were just scare and mostly about tranny problems. I had to put my hard earned money on something reliable. What was also odd to me was the low price on the AMG models and checking the car fax would show how many time they had been serviced for issues that an older vehicle would have, not a new one.
