From everything I have found, several have gone through the issue of hearing a clicking noise when driving or braking and has been diagnosed as a faulty brake actuator. I do not hear any clicking while driving or braking. However, when I turn off the car and get out, I hear a clicking noise coming from the front end of the car. I understand that as a car cools you can hear noises coming from the engine area, but this is a very distinct click that always holds the same tone (if that makes any sense).

Am I just over-thinking the basic cool down process? Does anyone else experience this?

Yes, most likely just the exhaust heat shields cooling down. If it's just a single click, it could be a delay relay (eg lights, security system, or a host of other electronic delays).

You are probably hearing the cabin vents closing, same tone/noise after a few mins after the car is off.

or if you have air suspension, the car self levels, and if you listen you may also hear the compressor running for a few more seconds, . .
