The ebay link compatibility chart shows the 2008 600hL as "standard application" whereas the 2009+ shows as "remote start ready"...not sure what that means..I guess I'll give Shibumi some more work next time I see him in FL lol

2008 LS600hL is RSR ready. A DBALL 2 is all you need.

I agree, easy install.

Ok..that chart must be outdated then. I thought it was crazy that 2008 wasn't and 2009 was..essentially same car minus front pass memory settings and slightly larger trunk. Remote start would be awesome here in GA heat

Idatalink also makes a piece that works.. ads-al-ca works just like the dball... with a few more programmable options but still no takeover... but I hear theyre closer to release it (takeover) than dei

Go to xpresskit.com and put in your year and model. It will show you options and install instructions.

One other thing. How long does the vehicle run before switching off. I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I read something in the manual about "3 mins". I hope that's not true.....that would be useless.

When they programmed the DBALL, they have to set the time. You may want to email them and ask.

3-15 minutes.

Mine is set for 15 Minutes, I programmed it myself.

For 69.00 shipped, you can buy the DBALL from who I get my stuff from. His name is Toby Broadfield toby.broadfield@gmail

He asks you these questions up front and provides amazing quick service. He will even send you wiring instructions and trouble shoot for you if needed. eBay guys aren't as easy and accessible. Once you email him, he will send you his # to call if needed as well.

Unfortunately NO, on an 08 GS350 is not Remote Start Ready like the LS, you would need the following...

A Viper Remote Start system
A DBALL or PKALL to bypass the key

You would have to use the viper remote to start the car

YES you can have remote start, just not as simply nor as cost effective.

First thing first, thank you very much for sharing this info!

For an '07, all i need is to order the $69 Dball from your contact (thx again!) and connect it myself?

Above for 72.00 is all you need to have remote start with your OEM FOB, 3x lock and the car starts.

ADD a smart start to use and monitor from your smart phone.
VSM200 around 125.00 from Amazon (there is a yearly fee of 70.00 for the smart start service)
OR
If you want the GPS locator to track the car if stolen OR teenagers are driving and you want to monitor.
Then it's about 175.00 for the VSM250 from Amazon @ 99.00 a year for the service.

If you DON'T want to flash the DBALL yourself and just want to buy the DBALL pre flashed, I have a guy that will sell you, program and give you all the wiring diagrams and color codes when you buy the equipment from him. His prices are fair and will also help you on the install by phone if needed. I can also assist on some of this. PM me for his email address. He's a very legit guy and honest. He works by paypal and ships usually the same day.

Simple huh..... I'm glad u posted that warning at the beginning of this thread. . Gentleman came in today, another local shop attempted this install on tues an apparently fried his ecm... they're install was 90% correct but unfortunately they had installed a refurbished unit.. with the incorrect firmware. . So plz be careful where u purchase from.. make sure they are a reputable business or person. .so this doesn't happen again.. the estimate from lexus rt now is at $6k..but I'll know more once they get a more in depth assessment of the damage. . So far he has no cruise control, every light on the cluster is on other than fuel and doors. .unsteady idle..an a slew of other issues..

Wow, that is unfortunate. I would have to say that the shop was completely incompetent! This seriously is the easiest install. I flashed the DBALL myself and did the install in under 30 Minutes. Not sure what they did, but they hopefully have paid for the screw up!

Hate to hear this for anyone. This is NOT the norm. I know Roadfrog did the install and he as well had great success.
