Default CPO and Approved Tire Brands

I am currently looking to purchase a CPO 2010 LS460L from a dealer. The tires on the car are Nexens, a brand I have never heard of before.

I was wondering if Lexus has a approved list of tires for their CPO vehicles or any tire is acceptable as long as there is enough tread life left on the tire.

I am worried about a relatively cheap tire installed on a relatively expensive car.

Thanks for any input.

Greg

That is a bargain prices tire. My dad has those on his escalade with no issues. However I do see your point

Greg, everything is negotiable. Either work to get them to replace the tires or lower their price with the expectation you will be replacing the tires soon.

What size are they? I've never heard of the brand. I looked them up on Tirerack and they don't even list them for your car.

I've never heard of any brand approved list from Lexus.

I believe Dunlaps, Michelins or Bridgestones come from the factory?

I use Pirelli P-Zero Now.

Nexens have been around a long time. They are more of an aftermarket performance tire. Yes, they are less expensive that Michelins but they have all the necessary DOT certifications.
