My 2013 GS350 had 10K interval and I see that my new 2013 LS has 5K interval. Why?

That dealership greed tho lol..folks on synthetic have gone 10k easily on the LS but the potential "gotcha" is engine warranty repair if 5k wasn't followed. .may or may not be an issue but they could be dheads about not following 5k if there is an issue

CjITTY is absolutely correct. My dealer in Maryland said the same thing. They do not have to honor warranty work if scheduled maintenance was not followed whether it be by the dealer or certified mechanic.

In South Africa, Lexus SA stipulates a 15K KM service interval on the current LS. (This translates to 9375 miles for those lazy to do the conversion)

Interesting though how the service intervals seem to differ from country to country and within the dealer networks too.

Moral of the story is if you are under warranty 5k..no warranty 10k
