Ipod interface question on 2010 LS 460 (non ML)
So I finally pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago on a CPO 2010 LS 460. Black/Black. Love it.
Question on the ipod interface though: I have my ipod plugged into the USB jack in the console. Its an older ipod classic with around 12,000 songs on it.
When I pull up the menu on the touch screen to scroll through the artists (like 800 or so), it takes FOREVER to scroll through. Is there any way to speed this up?
I think it would take like 30 minutes to get to ZZ Top!
Thanks in advance...

this is the biggest problem with the ipod interface - scrolling - all they had to do was put in an alphabet to move to that letter - its the same with playlists - try getting to a playlist in the "s's" when you have 130 playlists.
i have an ipod classic hooked up to the connector and had to make a playlist called 5 star - i keep it on that one playlist - if i want to change to a different playlist i stream my iphone (in a cup holder- holder) to the receiver. the iphone scrolls very quickly - but sound isn't quite as good.

Yes, the ipod scrolling on the 2010 LS is very poor. In addition to having to scroll down long lists a few items at a time, the system slows the process even more by auto selecting the first item at the top of the list during the scrolling process.
The 2013 LS has a far superior interface. There is an alphabet picker similar to what is used in Contacts when using the phone. In addition the tuning **** can be used to scroll quickly similar to the scroll wheel on the ipod.
The 2013 also has less volume variation between the various sources. I am constantly switching between XM and FM. In the 2010 I had to adjust the volume every time, but in the 2013 it is very similar.

i'm glad they fixed it in the 2013. This leads me to another question - why doesn't lexus offer an upgrade of the software for about $300 or $400 that would fix this problem and give us 3d graphics? Lexus makes a good car - but they want us to buy a new car to get an incremental upgrade.
I really don't understand why they don't offer a software upgrade.

Software update?
Hello,
just trying to revive this thread, was there a particular software update that was required to speed this iPOD thing up? I just recently purchased a 2012 LS 460 and would like to have this applied right out of the gate.
Thanks!
