I'm thinking about getting a Lexus LS460L with 87,000 from an auction. The dealer listed below is selling it since I guess he can't sell it. It seems ok from testing it out real quick and the exterior and interior are in great shape. Once i buy it a on site mechanic will check it out for $200 and if anything is wrong I can return it and not buy it. I am hoping to get it for about $22,000. Is there anything that goes wrong with these cars to worry about at 87,000 miles or is it like those older LS430 where they routinely got 200K+ miles with little to worry about. I want it real bad but my good friend is talking me out of it.

Also quick question. I noticed on the front windshield it had a wire along the dash that ended like an old school telephone jack. What is this for and is it missing something? I assume its for the radar detector and thats missing.

Three different owners with only one service record is odd. Also go onto the Lexus.com website and make an account and check on the service done to it. It looks pretty clean and the LS last forever but do your homework before buying.

It seems like the car has been in service way to much. Has the car bee in an accident? But definately be careful with that one and get your mechanics to check it out.

Seems ok. Air suspension is cool. It probably has the rear climate stuff...in that year with that option you'll have a smaller trunk. 19inch wheels...I'd do it.

This care is priced right at $29k - should have sold easily if it was in good shape. I would drive it and have it checked out thouroughly before buying.

I'm at 143K with no issues and she rides like off the showroom floor! Make sure the valve spring recall has been done other than having it looked over by a good tech you are good.

my CPO I just bought a month ago looks like it is in the VIN range and has not had it done yet, which admittendly is strange since it is a CPO car..

If it ran through the auction you wouldn't be able to get it for 22K maybe 24-25K Goodluck! The car is pretty!

It ended up going for $25 but the owner declined the offer.

Contact the dealer and offer them at the dealership $25,500-26.5 outside of the auction. If you dont want to spend that much, maybe its best you search for a SWB, the LWB fetch 2-3 grand higher is what I am noticing.

BTW if you run into any 08-up LS's at a good price, let me know I am looking for one aswell.

The car may be 'high mileage' to you, but for a Lexus vehicle it is not. His asking price seems to be about right If it had 150k on the odometer, it would be worth in the low to mid 20s.
