Default Did Lexus ever fix the wind noise?

I'm looking at purchasing a used 460 and know that the '07 and '08's have the driver's mirror wind noise.

Did Lexus ever address the issue with the any of the subsequent years, '09-'12?

Thanks!

The 07s and 08s are the most problematic. I believe they got it together with 09 and up BUT you can really tell they knew there was an issue when you look at the redesigned LS. Its got a few different touches that are there simply to reduce the noise. I had the TSIB done and they never got the door panels on the right way. Probably just because the idiots at Bell Lexus did the work. Any good tech should be able to execute the TSIB with little to no issues. The Jim Craney fix really made things better in conjunction with the TSIB from Lexus

I have a 2008 LS and no noticeable wind noise, unless it is really windy outside but I think that would be hard to get rid of regardless. jmcraney's fix did wonders on my 2007 460 and he should of been Lexus payroll for all the aggravation he saved the company...for real! he's what you call a TRUE contributer to our CL community and I can't thank him enough for his efforts on this issue.

Don't let the wind noise issue stop you from saving some money by getting a 2008, especially one produced in mid-late 2008. And if it does, his wind noise fix will take care of it IMO

I had a 2008 LS460 that had some amount of wind noise. I now have a 2012 LS 460L. There is no wind noise on the 2012 car.

I recently bought a 2007 with a lot of wind noise. I did the Craney fix but it did not help (I thought it would that is why I bought the 2007). So now I am stuck with a 2007 with bad wind noise.

I have a 07' and there is wind noise that can only be heard when I don't have the music bumpin. The music is always bumpin in my LS home! so wind noise is not an issue for me.

I've had my 2009 for three weeks now and it's been OK so far(knock on wood). Have to take it out on a really windy day to see if it stays quiet.

2009 didn't have the wind noise problem or valve spring problem.

There have been numerous reports of the "wind noise" problems in the '09 LS models at this site and other sites.

You should not conclude that they all have a problem just because some had a problem, nor should you conclude that none have a problem just because some did not have a problem. If you suspect that you have a problem then you probably do as the cars are exceptionally quiet when all is well.

I have a year end 2011 with no wind noise problems. I also had one of the first 2010 Sport models right off the boat and it didn't have any wind noise issues either.

I guess I should have been more clear, in 2009 Lexus installed the Lamisafe on the front windows which is what the TSB called for and it should cut down on the wind noise from earlier Lexus'. There still could be some wind noise but nothing like the earlier models without the TSB. The only other fix is the fix you provided with the metal pieces installed near the front of the window but luckily I haven't needed this. The one issue I have found with the Lamisafe windows is that it sometimes pinches the rubber window trim and if it does, the wind noise becomes an issue.
