Default front jack point

I decided to replace the front brakes pads and wanted to jack up the front end rather than jacking up each side separately. The owners manual locates the jack point right in front of the oil pan near the oil filter. When i starting looking for a jack pad or frame member to serve as a lift point,i found a thin steel plate in the area that the manual identifies as the lift pointThe plate is bolted to the frame at several points and there appears to be a gap between the plate and body member behind the plate.Has anyone placed the saddle of the jack on the plate and lifted the car without damaging the plate?

Hey get a Hockey Puck & make a slit in the middle, use that to jack up your car so you won't damage your jacking points

Thanks for the response, but I think you misunderstood my posting.I want to jack up both front wheels at the same time, not just one side.
