Default Location of ECU on LS460

Do any of us know where the ECU is located? Can't seem to find my manual.

Going to have it shipped out to TOM's.

Thanks

if you are going to ship is this TOMS in Japan?? If so your ride will be out of commission for a long time until you get it back. Also I usually dont recommend doing ECU tuning by mail. Ideally they would adjust it, test it, adjust it, test it, until its perfect. I had a ECU retune on my G35 and I was at the shop for almost 3 hours before they nailed it

before i start.. i really suggest u have a certified MECP installer do ur install.. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TRYING THIS YOURSELF...

that said:

the main ecu is behind the drivers side dash.. left of the column.. the entire lower dash must come off to access it.. the 10mm bolt beneath the parking brake switch(behind the black clipped in trim).. the drivers door jam trim. the wood grain panel beneath the drivers side a/c vent. the screw behind it.. the lower dash trim screws an panel must all be removed. then u'll see the main ecu behind the knee bolster... BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE,UNPLUG OR SERIOUSLY DISTURB THE KNEE BOLSTER AIRBAG!!!!!!

That seems like some sensitive stuff. I think between the risk of damage, shipping it, and the down time of the car I would stick with the stock set up personally. But I will admit when they tuned the ECU on my G35 it was insane. It was like telling a beagle that it was a doberman

Actually, the main body ecu was easy to locate. I just overlooked it many times thinking it was a fuse box.

This may be a stupid question, but what does the flash do other than get rid of the limiter? Would be awesome to tune car with the cutouts open.
