Default Is $40,000 for a 2008 LS460 with under 12,000 miles a fair price?

There's a mint LS460 with 11,800 miles advertised in the ebay classifieds ( # 200773730612) that was driven by an old lady to church on Sundays, etc, that they are asking $40,000. There are no similar cars with such low miles and I am wondering if the asking price is too high or does such low miles make it worth it. These cars should be fairly reliable, and I hope to be able to own it for many years without major problems, right?

Assuming similar vehicles, which should be worth more, a 2009 with 25,000 miles and 6 months of warranty, or a car like this which is out of warranty?

I would say it sounds pretty damn good to me. That really low mileage. The car is still brand new

Sounds pretty good, do you if it has navigation and mark levinson ? And if it was a early 08 does it fall into the valve spring issue or rather fix? Might want to see if it is still covered or if it was affected.

Default Price for Lexus

I think the price is very good. I would ask if you could have it checked by a local mechanic. Might cost a couple of hundred, but could be well worth it for the peace of mind. Also, do a carfax! Giving the VIN to the local Lexus dealer would tell you if it fell under the valve spring probelm and if it has been repaired.

The seller said no Levinson, but yes to nav. He said it had valve recall done and oil changed 4 times in 4 years. Unfortunately I have to work today or I would go check it out. He said Carfax is clean, can anyone check it for me to confirm this.

VIN is JTHBL46F385072763.

you can't check the carfax yourself?

have the seller send you a copy of the carfax??

also, carfax is a joke for the simple fact that not all repair shops report to them.
hire a company to checkout the car.

Anyone know if I bought the car and took it to Lexus, can I pay them to CPO it, or will I only be able to do an aftermarket extended warranty?

CPO cars would have to be certified by the dealership and sold by the dealership, however if the car is still within the 4yrs/50k miles you can purchase a extended warranty through Lexus or Toyota and it would be the same thing. Btw it sounds like a good deal for that low of a milage.

You better buy that car before someone else does! That's a great deal!
