Just picked up 08 LS460 white/tan
Hey guys, I just picked it up and got it tinted, 35% all around. Absolutely amazing car. I just got back from a road trip from SF-LA and it was completely painless. I had an 08 BMW M3 before and I wanted a cruiser after always having a sports car, and this was the perfect option for me.
I'm currently using aux for my iPod, and I saw the vaistech hook up, but it looks like a pain to scroll through playlists and artists, can anyone clarify this?
Also, I've read on here about the wind noise, and I don't know how loud it should be in order to determine if I have this problem because I have nothing to compare it to. I def hear wind noise, but at 80mph, is that normal?

Congratulations on your purchase. I just picked up an 07 last week. I can't comment on the wind noise yet, because I haven't driven my car enough to know if it's an issue. As for the Vaistech iPod hookup, not too sure about that. I did call the company and the gentleman I spoke with seemed to indicate that because my car has parking assist, the only device that would work in my car would simply give me iPod control through the ML deck. No album art and no video. Not sure that even makes it worth the $250.00 plus installation price tag, when the aux cable costs me all of $10.

I have followed the "Wind Noise" issue closely here, and in several other forums too, for the past four years. I think the best rule of thumb to follow regarding the wind noise is: if you are not absolutely certain that you don't have a wind noise problem, then you do have a problem. The LS460s and LS600s are so exceptionally quiet, when all is well, that no reasonable person would suspect a wind noise problem. There have been reports of wind noise in 2007-2012 LS460 and LS600s - actually it is a noise isolation problem. For most of the problem cars a simple, inexpensive DIY trim repair will solve the problem. So far there is no indication that Lexus understands this problem as most reports we see indicate that complaints regarding wind noise get the "car fully meets specifications" evaluation when the "factory engineer" is called in. Some of the cars come with this problem and others develop it as they age.
