Default Is it possible to spot semi-analine leather from just pics?

In the market for an 08/09 LS460L, and I'm wondering if there's an easy way to see if a car has the semi-analine option just from pics.

Like if standard leather is non-perforated, and semi-analine is perforated.

Something to help spot it basically, because you know how it goes, half these sales guys at non-Lexus dealers BS the option list over the phone and you wind up wasting time that could have been saved.

Thanks guys

If it's an "L", it's semi-analine leather. If it's a SWB, it's not. (At least for '07 models)

Wonder if that carried over to 08/09 models.

Any way to spot it via pics as I asked?

I don't think you can differentiate them via pictures because they are both perforated, you need to feel the leather quality, the non semi-aniline has a stiffer feeling than the semi-aniline. In fact, the SWB LSs (2007-2009) in America don't have semi-aniline leather.

How about using the headliner as a guide, meaning if the car has the alcantara/suede headliner then it must have semi-analine. Not sure but I think the two are linked in all model years.

Pain in the butt, but the analine is worth it...

@Mako: What do you mean by "headliner"? I don't really get it.

On the 2011 LS, semi-analine is paired up with the suede/alcantara headliner, ("headliner" = the roof of the car on the inside, where the sunroof, switches, handles, map lights, etc are).

So my thought is that possible pics that show the suede headliner in the earlier cars might also mean the presence of semi-analine leather (if they were paired in those days as the are now...hopefully someone can provide details).

The bottom line is really I just need a way to confirm what a guy in say another state is telling me over the phone as legit, by having him email camera pics of whatever I tell him to photograph. Just not sure on the car where it gives an indication of semi-analine leather being equipped.

The easiest route seems to be just opting for a 2007 LS460 L which apparantly were 100% semi-analine, but I'd like to have options on an 08 or 09 also if they pop up.

OK, I got it, but it's not really true because the alcantara is for fully loaded LSs (Executive Package, Rear Seat Upgrade), the semi-aniline is included in Luxury Package, a lower package which doesn't include alcantara leather inside roof.

That's true, didn't think of the base luxury package.

Difficult to pin this down.
