Question Help me DISABLE SEAT BELT ALARM

I have been trying to disable my seat belt alarm on my 2010 LS460. I have tried some instructions that are in this forum such as pushing the start button 2 times then hold odometer reset button buckle seat belt, etc. Can anyone give me definitive directions to get this done. It is frustrating. Thanks..

i don't think there is a way to do it yourself unless you have TechStream.

I haven't been into it but I'd expect there is a switch or contact sensor of some sort in the buckle/stalk. If you could short those two wires together, or open [depends on the condition it is looking for], it should defeat the system into thinking it was buckled all the time.

Just a guess.

Someone disabled the overspeeding & seat belt buzzers for me. He had to use TechStream.

If it is just the seatbelt buckle, you might be able to buy a buckle at a junk yard and plug it in. Has anyone tried that?

And a word of caution here: The seat belt interlock is tied into the "Hold" feature. So, if you use the Hold, then you must be cautious to think this through carefully as disconnecting the seatbelt causes the Hold to default to Parking-Brake on.

I had mine done at the dealer. Took about 10 minutes once they figured out how to do it. It's part of the personalized computer settings.

Load up techstream and connect to vehicle
Go into customize setting
Go to Warning
There will be option of Driver: on/off; Passenger: on/off Both: on/off
Set your settings then click the green arrow to save. Done deal.

Ditto, I just asked my service adviser to do it and he had the setting changed, no questions asked.

exactly, never understood why folks be trippin about using seatbelts, but then again, folks don't fly because they are afraid of crashing, even though the statistics suggest the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor to fly..just sayin

I also had mine done at the dealer. Sometimes, people don't put their seat belt of fast enough and the buzzer gets annoying...
