1) How many filters are there inside the car, beside the a/c filter inside the glovebox?

2) When to change these fluids (mileage|timeframe):
- coolant?
- brake? Specific rating for the fluid?
- differential gear?
- any other fluids have to be checked/changed?

I read on the user's manual that the transmission is completely sealed and shouldn't be touched whatsoever unless there's a leakage. I'd be very happy to leave my transmission alone with it's stuff untouched. But will it not break apart or something due to excessive use and lack of lube renewal? I'm scared to think about driving 150K miles without a single tranny fluid change.

3) Does the transmission's filter have to be changed? When if yes?

4) Left side mirror is taking 1 second longer to unfold (but not when folding) than the right one. Should I worry?

+1 .......a somewhat related question. Is an intake air filter same as the engine air filter?

if so, should I ask not to have the engine filter changed at my 60k service since I just got a brand new intake?

i believe intake filter is same as engine air filter. if you remove your factory airbox (where factory air filter is located and put in the intake, then there is no more factory engine air filter to replace

inside the car? for sure the ac filter behind the glove box (careful on changing that one). and i forgot if this is standard on all ls460, but those with micro filter, there is another filter somewhere i forgot. for ls460l with rear seats upgrade (separate ac compressor unit), there is another air filter in the trunk area

I had heard this, but went through my Service Manuals line by line.. no filters in the seats that I could find. I took one of my seats out (passenger) and no filters.

No it will not "break apart" unless you leak out all your transmission fluid. My Q45a has 184,000 miles on it. Its not a sealed transmission, but I've never had to add fluid, and never changed the fluid. My wife's Jag has a sealed transmission and its fine with 95,000 miles on it.

You have to realize there have been many improvements in automotive parts. Years ago engine oil was changed every 3,000 miles and now some cars are up to 10-15,000 miles. Tires were good for maybe 15,000 miles if you were lucky, now some will go 60,000 (not Turanza EL42's though). Spark plugs used to be changed every 5,000, now its 100,000. Plus you used to change the points at the same time. I don't expect to ever change the points on my LS!

i highly doubt there are filters for the seats. never heard of that

i was told by two diff svc advisors that there are filters for the AC seats...i haven't seen them personally. I thought that sounded crazy too

I came across this old thread during a search. I own a 2010 LS 460. I just replaced the seat bottom air filters on the driver and passenger sides. They were dirty and air flow has improved since replacement. There's a couple of threads about how to DIY. When you do a parts search or ask a dealer you'll think they don't exist (not listed on newer models), but they're there and worth replacing. mylparts.com 2/$30 shipped. I was skeptical too...

All LS 460 with climate control seats have filters installed in the seats. Contact Lexus or check your owner's manual.

I have an 07 ls460 with heated and cooled seats but for the life of my can't find any filters. Did the 2007 460 have seat filters? Perhaps it started with the 10's?
