I test drove a new 750Li just before Christmas. It rode nice, but the interior did not appeal to me, but that was strictly a personal judgement.
Agree completely. My brother has a 750Li, nice car but I don't like the interior nearly as much as the LS. And within the first year he had the car it died on him and he had to have to whole electrical system replaced.

S550 is a nice car, but the deal breaker for me was no touch screen navigation. BMW has the i-drive and MBZ is similar with the "ball" that controls the screen....no touch screen. My Q45 was similar and I rarely used the nav system because it was a pain typing in the addresses without touch screen.

And like you said, you will be shelling out 20 grand more for a S550. And it will cost an arm and a leg for maintenance. I also have a MBZ SL500 and the Mercedes dealers will gouge you to death. Lexus service is much less painful.
