Default Viper 5902 and remote start

How true is this? I recently had the viper 5902 responder HD and Viper VSM 100 installed on my LS 460 and both systems have remote star. The tech that hooked up my alarm was able to get the remote start to work on my car by using a bypass module. Which means I didn’t have to have key fob hidden in my car. However the downside is that when I remote start my car it works fine. but when I approach the car and open the door the car cuts off. he stated that Lexus has a security system that will not allow the car to stay running once I open the door. this is also the first LS460 he had to install this system on. this does not sound right to me but in not really familiar with car alarms or factory security system. Is there anything bypasses or gadget I can buy to keep my car running when I open the door. thanks in advance

what bypass module did he use... the newer modules wont let u open the door on the car while remote start is active..the older version (canmax400 or canmax400dei w firmware version 400.TOYOTA2 0.06 vH00.S00.D01) will work, it will give a 45 sec delay after pressing the unlock button b4 shutting the engine down, giving u time to keep the engine running for takeover w factory system...

I didnt think having Remote Start without losing the proximity sensor was possible. Have things changed? I've always wanted remote start for my LS.

have them switch your bypass to a canmax400dei (it docks directly to the 5902 brain so its easier to wire in to the existing system) its a now discontinued unit(i've found a few on ebay 60$) but in my opinion it works better than some of the newer units.. all the new units omit the ability to open the door while the LS is running.. the 45sec delay is great...the newer units install faster but that is a major feature for me because otherwise it really doesnt make sense to have remote start at all...
