Default Just purchased a used 2007 LS460 and experiencing a weird noise from the brakes

So i did alot of reading prior to posting this thread...

I just purchased a 2007 LS460. it has 88k miles on it. the car is in great shape. Well taken care of and free of any noticeable problems.

I am experiencing one very weird noise. When I am in Drive and go from moving to stop. If i press hard on the brakes. A second after I come to a full stop i hear a noise as if the the brakes are grinding on the rotors. I do NOT hear this noise when I am braking. Or going from Park to drive. i ONLY hear this noise ONE second AFTER a complete stop with the brake pedal completely depressed.

I know that the front brake pads are worn out and need to be changed. Can this be all that it is?
I have read several stories about the BRAKE ACTUATOR being faulty and needing to be replaced.

My car does not give me any codes or check anything warnings. Any input from other members would be great !

Yes, you need new break pads and have the calipers lubricated appropriately. There was a recall about a "click" noise when puting the car in R and then releasing the break pedal. This "click" was solved with greasing of some mechanisms.

Get new pads before your rotors get damaged. The LS breaks are very "grabby" when working properly. They bite instantly, no mushiness. I think just a regular well done break service should solve your issue. I'd take it to a Lexus dealer.

EDIT: Not a recall, just a TSB.

I remember when I owned a 2006 gs430 I changed the brake pads and forgot to put the shims in. It had an unbearable squeal. However after I installed the shims the squeal was gone.

Does this car need the shims to be changed with the brake pads as well?
