Btw, I use Eneos 0w20 grade, it helps in my opinion.
Thanks for the info on Eneos, 0W20. I just ordered a 12 pack. From what I have learned on the web this oil is far superior than any other on the market. The price was good only $114 for 12 quarts delivered. I will buy the filter $10, gasket $2, and service $50 from Lexus for a total of $119 +tax for 6 quarts.
This should help my already good milage of 18 -20 city and 28 -32 highway.
This is on a 2007 LS460 with 23k miles.

My MPG in mixed City/Highway on the 460 was 17-18. On the 600 21-24.

Filter should be between $5-6; the gasket should be about 60 cents. Buy them from Toyota - same part number, same company... $114 for 12Q seems over the top for what is probably not that much different, and more than likely may even come out of the same refinery. There's quite a difference between conventional and full synthetic, but between one synthetic and another, not that much...

Okay then I should be pretty close to accurate then? Not sure how people are getting 500 miles on a tank.

So Burnaby...how many kilometres were you getting on a full tank on the 460 when you had it?Im getting about 450 which i think is awesome..I was under the false impression that some get 500 miles(800 kms).

I got "close" to 800 on the hybrid 600, when the tank was nearly bone dry. I ran out of gas in Ferndale, south of the border one time, so I sometimes pushed the envelope a bit. Cop came by and gave me a ride to the gas station and back. The 460 on the other squeaked out just under 500 kms/tank. That's quite a difference which clearly illustrates the hybrid's benefit, albeit at quite a premium dollar-wise. I see similar proportional numbers for the RX450, although I didn't pull the trigger on that one.

The LS 460 holds 9 quarts of oil...

If you're taking a lot of people out to show them the car in stop-and-go traffic, then your MPG will take a beating. It's pretty amazing the difference in consumption between the car hauling just a driver versus carrying an extra three or four extra passengers. That goes for any car.

Manny, although I live near Boston, my driving is more suburban than city. I usually get about 23 mpg, but never worse than 21. If I take a highway trip I get no less than 27 mpg, and typically 28+. With a 22.2 gallon tank, that gets me almost 600 miles. I tend to run my tank to close to empty. I think the most I've driven on one tank is 582 miles.

I just checked my 2009 LS460 SWB AWD around the hills of Pittsburgh with the A/C running mostly and am getting about 15.5 MPG. About 1 MPG less than I got with my "old" 2007 LS460 SWB (not AWD) which seems consistent....AWD eats about 1MPG as per the mileage ratings. Oh and the car has 9000 miles so perhaps this will improve as it breaks in further.

just did a road trip from ATL to Memphis, and my display said 29.9 mpg going 80mph once I got there...not bad at all!! I also installed the two K&N drop in filters a day before my trip, so perhaps that helped a little bit. I only burned 1/4 tank driving from Birmingham to Memphis. I haven't been able to drive far enough to where I burned a whole tank on the highway w/o city mix, but the best tank I had so far was about 455 miles a tank. I think that is very respectable for a 380HP car, so not complaining..but that joka costs about $55 to fill up lol

Be careful not to over oil the K&N filters. You can ruin the mass air flow sensor. In my opinion, I wouldn't take the chance with K&N. They let in too much dirt. That's why I stick with the factory filters.

Interesting, been using K&Ns for a long time on all my cars and never once had an issue, but then again i know how to oil it properly. If you know of a study about those letting too much dirt in or anything negative, let me know. I'll be looking on the net to see what I can find out about this..thanks

i just got back from a 2100 mile road trip (newport beach, ca to santa fe, nm and back) and got 27.8 miles per gallon in my 2010 ls460 - its the best mileage i have ever gotten from any car i have owned. I had the car on cruise control (80 mph) most of the time and had the air conditioning on all the time.

I wish i had purchased the adaptive cruise control when i got the car, but i may have fallen asleep. This car rides so smoothly that it was a good thing i had to be somewhat alert regarding the cruise control.

Steaming music from my iphone 4 was a pleasure too. The nav system worked great even though it doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles. Streaming the music to the system saved me a lot of trouble because the nav system's ipod scrolling is such a pain.

this is truly a great car.
