Yesterday I had Michelin tires put on at 22,320 miles replacing the OEM Dunlaps. I also had the alignment done by the dealer. When the car came back, the data showed they were all within the range specified except for the following:

Front Left camber: 5.9 deg (range 6.3 deg 7.8 deg)
Front Camber: -0.6 deg (range -0.5 deg +0.5 deg)
Front Cross SAI: 0.5 deg (range -0.5 deg +0.5 deg)

I sent off an email asking my SA as to the reason why the camber and the other two front items were out of spec.

I am cut & pasting his response verbatim. " Left side caster being a little behind the right side is where we want it to be because the road crown that we have here in the South. It helps fight that “drift/pull” to the right that most folks complain about. As far as cross camber and SAI, I would not worry about those too much…they tend to be slightly off even though camber is in and everything else is just about were we want it. Sometimes the specs need to be slightly, slightly off to get the best ride and wear."

I smell smoke a mile high, and no mention of camber being unadjustable. What do you guys think of SA's explanation?

I am a bit concerned. I am about to get a LS and want to lower it on 22.
So if I lower it, should I expect to have my tires wear out quickly?

if you lower your car, of course you should expect tires to wear out faster. but at the same time, it depends on your alignment. the camber is not adjustable, but i believe the toe is adjustable. and toe is a big deal in uneven inside wear. if you get a good alignment should to look at your setup and adjust the toe accordingly (not just blindly using the factory spec), then your tires should last pretty long

for example, my gs350 is very low (you can search pics of my car), and it has pretty serious camber. but my toe is adjust correctly, and my front tires (with flipping), i can run over 30k miles
