How did you transfer the contacts? I have a 2007. It syncs bluetooth but I never found a way to transfer contacts.

It pairs with the car within seconds of starting it and I have had no issues making calls.

What year car do you have? Older models may have a different version of Bluetooth that is not totally compatible with the I-phone.
Mine is '08, and I guess it's a common problem in the older LS'.

Now, can I update my car's operating system or whatever it is so it has the latest software version?

Honestly, I just followed the directions in the NAV/Audio instruction manual and the prompts on the touch screen. I believe there was a "tranfer contacts" button on the screen and the contacts were transferred in an matter of minutes.

It sounds like it might have something to do with the Bluetooth version you have in your '07 LS. It might not support transferring contacts automatically from your I-phone. Interestingly, Lexus doesn't show the I-phone as an approved device but mine had no problems linking/transferring and has worked fine since. In fact, the link and the sound quality are better then they were with my now departed 550i.

I just picked up my '10 LS today. Unfortunately I have 2,500 contacts in my iphone and the car maxes out at 1,000. Anyone know a way around this?

Default over 5,000 contacts and only downloads 1,000

How do I download about 200 of these contacts into my LS460. I have a Black Berry 9700.

Send and you are done.
Nice write up. I assume this will work with my BB Tour? Will try it tomorrow.
